Name the Beast
Social media posts and comments are often laced with obvious and subtle propaganda. This is especially true in the opposition to renewable energy and data/AI infrastructure projects. Many of us have been conditioned to not see these tactics and inherently trust the messaging.
Because of this,social media debates can be a scary place for the clear-eyed and well intentioned! You sense something is off but it’s hard to name, let alone respond to. That’s why created First Responder. To help name the beast and fight it head on.
Either copy/paste some text or upload a screenshot from a social media post or comment(s) to receive a propaganda analysis and suggested response template. For more information about common propaganda techniques, check out our Propaganda page!
This is a work in progress and will continue to improve as we refine AI prompting and coding. For now, we encourage anyone that uses this to check/confirm the information before using it and to include your own trusted resources in the response. Including a reference to how a post is propaganda is a great way to subtly start educated folks about why what they are reading resonates (and how it is manipulative).
