America Needs Power. Power needs Facts.

We know the problem

Picture this. A renewable energy project is proposed in your community. It will bring much needed tax revenue to the school district, support for community services, and even jobs for local union members. The multi-generational landowner families participating have negotiated leases ensuring that drainage, topsoil preservation, sheep grazing, vegetation management, and decommissioning are taken care of. The developer is working diligently to address community concerns and engage with area stakeholders.

But then an opposition group siezes control of the narrative. They claim it will imperil food security, that it will poison the ground for 1,000 years, that everything the developer and landowners say are lies. They gain traction in the community, telling people their worst fears about the proposed project will come true. Supporters rally, try their best but local officials are in a bind. It’s an election year and they don’t want to deal with controversy. The project is suddenly evaluated on the opposition’s concerns instead of the project and landowners solutions. Truth becomes inconvenient and fiction prevails.

Action Alert: Crossroads Solar

Ohio might fell for the newest trick in the book - AI fueled propaganda and fake comments. They aren’t alone. Local and state elected officials are falling for it too.

This was preventable. If the OPSB Staff systematically reviewed the public comments in the Crossroads Solar Grazing Center case, they would find over 80 were from anonymous of fake commenters claiming to be neighbors to the Project. They would see that the vast majority of the Morrow County community actually supports the Project. OPSB Staff would also see that every issue raised by opposition was one that they already addressed in their Staff Report and Recommended Conditions, not to mention by the Project as well

We can’t let internet trolls decide what happens to energy projects in Ohio or anywhere else. We don’t let made up people vote - that’s voter fraud. Why are we letting made up people make decisions about $100M infrastructure Projects?
